Dirac Live ART Available now for Denon and Marantz AV Receivers

Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) is now available on select Denon and Marantz AV receivers. These receivers and preamplifiers already support Dirac Live Room Correction. They also support Dirac Live Bass Control. The feature, which actively reduces room resonances to improve bass clarity, was rolled out via a firmware update on October 1, 2025.

How Dirac Live ART works

ART is a new add-on feature that expands upon the existing Dirac Live suite to improve bass performance.

  • A unified acoustic system: ART uses patented Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology to make all speakers in a system—including subwoofers—work together to manage bass.
  • Active resonance cancellation: It actively uses the entire speaker system to counteract room-induced resonances and reflections in the challenging 20–150 Hz frequency range.
  • Reduces lingering bass: The process significantly shortens the decay time of bass frequencies, eliminating muddy or boomy bass. This allows for a tighter, cleaner, and more defined low-frequency reproduction.
  • Expands the listening area: By actively controlling the sound field, ART minimizes spatial variation across listening positions. This creates a larger, more consistent “sweet spot” compared to traditional room correction.
  • Complements other Dirac features: ART builds on the capabilities of Dirac Live Room Correction (which corrects individual speakers’ frequency and impulse response) and Dirac Live Bass Control (which optimizes the integration of subwoofers).
